Interview with Nirmiti Biswas
We recently interviewed teen photographer, Nirmiti Biswas.

Nirmiti: My name is is Nirmiti Biswas , I'm 14 years old and I am from India . I love photographing things especially the nature. I have been doing photography when I was 11 years old.
Question 1: How were you first introduced to photography?
Nirmiti: I was introduced to photography by my elder brother, he was taking pictures of a butterfly from different angles which I found amazing! And my many friends started doing it but none of them took it so seriously, so I decided to try it out and I just love it.
Question 2: What type of photography do you like to do? Does your Instagram page reflect that type of photography?
Nirmiti: Mostly , I photograph the nature, insects, macros, water droplets, and a few sunset landscapes but like to photograph everything .And I think everything has its own beauty. I really like beauty of nature and photographing it is always a challenge .
Question 2; What is the definition of a “good” photo to you?
Nirmiti: I feel that defining a good photo is hard because every photo is unique, beautiful , creative, and interesting in its own way , no photo is same as other and it’s very hard to judge when there are so many styles.
Question 3: That is very true! Has it been difficult juggling life and your photography?
Nirmiti: I think no! My Mum ,Dad and my friends are very supportive! So, it hasn't been different juggling life .
Question 4: That’s good! Who are your biggest inspirations to your photography?
Nirmiti: My biggest inspirations are Giulia Gartner. Her photos are so awesome and breathtaking. She is really very talented . I aspire to be like her because she travels all around the world and makes every place look breathtaking. And Varun Aditya is also a huge inspiration for me ! He is really an amazing photographer , and his photos are awesome!!
Question 5: That’s very nice! What qualities do you believe a photographer needs in order to be successful?
Nirmiti: your photos need to original and unique and your love for photography! So, I think originality , uniqueness and your love for photography!
Question 6: Has photography opened any career goals or job opportunities? (Do you have any career goals in the field of photography? If so, what are they?)
Nirmiti: In our country , India very few people take photography as career option , and those who take they have to struggle a lot! but nowadays photography is fast emerging as a popular career choice among all the age groups.
Question 7: What is the best advice you have ever gotten about photography that other teens doing photography need to hear?
Nirmiti: The best advice I have ever gotten was, never give up ! Give your best and not to do it for Followers , do it because you love it!
Last Question: What’s the best advice you want to give to teens about life?
Nirmiti: Not the best but I will like to tell them, never compare yourself to others: when you look at others to measure your worth , you are dismissing your unique talents. Instead, spread your energy discovering all your gifts, building on your strengths, and fine tuning those weaknesses. Honor who you were created to be, and spend your life celebrating your individual traits and unique sense of purpose. Be the best you, as that’s enough.
