*A conversation between Daania S. and Hunter Sardegna a teen singer/musician.*
1: How long have you been singing or playing your musical instrument?
Hunter: I have been playing my guitars for about a year now and singing since I've been able to talk (my parents words) I've always wanted to learn to play and had trouble learning using apps such as YouTube and Google, one day I sat down with my Yamaha and played a few strings noticed it wasnt in tune and I tuned it and really went from there.
2: How do you feel when you play music?
Hunter: When I play music I feel every emotion that I cant get out with everyday conversations, But with those same words and I have a song that i have no problem singing to 100+ people, And I love it mainly because people are starting to understand me for me not who I am behind a smile, they want to know about me it's a great feeling.
3: What is your preferred genre of music?
Hunter: My preferred genre of music is country, my all time inspiration to get into music and creating music is Johnny cash, I've been listening to his music since I could remember and I've been taught so many life lessons from the music that I have created 3 all original songs that have people talking.
4: When did you first get introduced to music and how?
Hunter: I first got into music like i said before when I started listening to Johnny cash everything changed for me, the music part has always been there but when that music came on my station one day it clicked and ever since people dont see me much without a guitar in my hand or that notebook.
5: Who are your biggest inspirations to your music?
Hunter: My biggest inspirations other than Johnny Cash, are maybe Marty Robbins or George strait because of the history and feelings behind the songs they sing and the history. I cant remember a song of theirs that didn't make me think about anything.
6: Do you prefer singing covers over originals or vice versa?
Hunter: I prefer singing my own unless I'm singing Johnny Cash (Can't you tell he's my favorite) I feel that if I put my hard work and effort into a song why not sing it🤣
7: What are your future career goals relating to music?
Hunter: My future goals in music is I've always wanted to be able to go on stage and just sing and my guitar for people but I dont have many options to do that here where I live because we dont have many cafes out here where I'm from so there are no options
8: What qualities do you believe a good artist should posses?
Hunter: The qualities that a good artist should posses is the ability to be humble and capable to handle the fame and be able to understand that you cant be cocky and be liked because no one likes an overly confident person to play their favorite songs. Also dont count on making money unless your willing to put forward your effort
9: What’s the best advice you were ever given relating to music that you believe teens following your footsteps should hear?
Hunter: I was given advice one time and it was from my friend last year and he told me "Dude as long as you keep your mouth open and sing what you think people will listen" I've listened to that since then.
10: What is the best advice you can give to teens (not relating to music)?
Hunter: The best advice I can give to teens is keep your head high and you'll get through anything.
Last Question: Any last thoughts you’d like to add?
Hunter: Nope I appreciate you interviewing me!
